Hi, I’m sheila king, IBCLC
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a postpartum doula, and a mother of two girls. I have always loved serving women and babies, and became a postpartum doula after the birth of my second child. My goal is to fill the postpartum gap in our healthcare system, and provide in-home care for growing families. I believe that providing physical and emotional support after a birth leads to healthier outcomes for families.
I have worked with hundreds of women during their pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum time. My specialty is the first three months after the birth of a new baby, commonly referred to as the fourth trimester. This is a sacred time for mother, baby, father, and siblings and women must be honored and cared for.
A new baby is a special gift and the fourth trimester is the time for bonding, family adjustment, and healing. This time as a family sets the foundation for a healthy parent/child relationship for a lifetime.
In addition to all my other hats, I hold a Private Pilot’s License and help aviators get back in the pilot seat after the birth of a child
